Using Quickbooks , either the desktop version which you buy once every year or two or the online version that you pay monthly for, may seem like a cheap and easy auto repair invoicing system.
Just like buying cheap tools can be a false saving so to can using a accounting system that was not designed from the ground up to be software for auto repair shops. Quickbooks is definitely the best accounting program that we have ever worked with, that is why we integrate with Quickbooks so tightly.
But using Quickbooks to run your complete auto repair or Transmission shop is just not efficient or easy to do. Saving the equivalent of one hour of technicians time in $ each month is really not worth the hours and hours of time you will spend trying to learn how to get QB working as you want it to (and in our experience you never will)

Much of the items that are available to the shop owner when they use our repair shop software while writing up estimates and producing repair orders are not available in Quickbooks. While they may not be directly connected to the look of the end invoice they are definitely a huge time saver for the shop owner.
Online parts ordering, profit per hour and text messaging being just 3 of the things that are not available when you are using Quickbooks for auto repair.
It is a very simple process, you sign up for the Quickbooks integration and then you will be taken to a synch page. On the synch page you follow the steps to allow Auto Shop Software to push data across to QB.
Once that is done you, or your book keeper, will just click on the “Synch” button whenever you wish to and your data will move across.

You can use whatever accounting system you wish to run your business but the only system that we integrate with is Quickbooks online.
So if you choose to use anything else you will have to manually enter the data into it. Can it be done, yes of course it can be done but it is a time suck and entering anything manually nearly always results in mistakes.
With QB online version starting at $10 a month it really is worth looking into it.
